Coventry Joint Green Belt Review
SSR Planning has recently completed a Joint Green Belt Study on behalf of Coventry City Council, Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, Rugby Borough Council and Warwick District Council to identify land that could be removed from the Green Belt to accommodate future growth.
The joint study was undertaken on behalf of the four authorities following the identification within the Preferred Options for the West Midlands Regional Spatial Strategy of a sub-regional strategy which aims to focus development in the Major Urban Areas particularly Coventry, as well as within a wider north-south corridor running from Nuneaton to Warwick/Leamington Spa; and also within Rugby.
The Joint Study was completed in early 2009 and is subsequently being used by the four authorities to inform their individual Local Development Frameworks as well as forming part of the evidence-base for the West Midlands Regional Spatial Strategy.
