Northamptonshire, the ‘Rose of the Shires’, is a largely undiscovered County at the core of the country, providing easy access to London and the surrounding counties.
Central London is only an hour away by train and road links make easy access to Oxford, Cambridge, Birmingham, the Cotswolds, Peak District and East Anglia.
Northamptonshire, famous for its shoe industry, boasts a wealth of history and some magnificent stately homes and country estates, one of them being Althorp, the family home and resting place of Diana, Princess of Wales. The County provides an ideal rural setting with its undulating country side with some very attractive villages.
The University town of Northampton provides an excellent living environment with an extensive range of services, leisure activities and attractive parks. There are numerous restaurants, clubs, two cinema complexes and two theatres, which have excellent shows throughout the year.
For sporting enthusiasts there is plenty on offer. In the town there is Premiership rugby at Northampton Saints, county cricket and league football. There is horse racing at Towcester, Formula 1 Grand Prix motor racing at Silverstone and Rockingham Raceway. And every summer the town hosts one of the largest Hot Air Balloon Festivals in the country.
